Culinary Consulting & Product Development

I am chef Kevin Penner and I am a cook on the east end of Long Island, NY who works anywhere in the world where people eat.

Since 1987, I have worked in professional kitchens from Iowa to Seattle and Chicago and NYC. In 1992 I moved to East Hampton to open Della Femina restaurant which ran successfully until 2011. I also opened the NYC branch of the restaurant in 1999. In 2002 I returned to East Hampton to open the 1770 House and many other restaurants.

And now I am here, done with the daily grind of restaurant work. I am currently offering culinary consulting and product development in the following areas:

-Recipe Development
-Product development for retail distribution
-Restaurant consulting and menu development
-Working with co-packers and providing training and solutions for them
-Working with large scale food manufacturers to develop new products
-Working with small food start-ups to develop new products
-Commercial kitchen and restaurant design and build-out
-Private chef services for discerning clients
-Cooking classes for discerning clients
-Catering services for discerning clients
-Culinary tourism and travel

Over the years I have cooked on television, most notably with Ina Garten on a few episodes of the Barefoot Contessa on the Food Network. Also on the Food Network I have appeared on The Best Thing I Ever Ate, The Next Food Network Star (as a judge) and on Food Nation with Bobby Flay. I have also appeared on George Hirsch Lifestyle on public television.

My recipes have appeared in many publications, most notably in Foolproof by Ina Garten, and I have made four appearances at the James Beard House in NYC.
